PLEASE POST YOUR COMMENTS AND RESPONSES UNDER THE "DISCUSSION" TAB ABOVE.
PROMPT - 1/14/10
Please respond to the two questions below, as well as responding to the posting of another student. (One reply per student, please, so each student can have a response to their ideas.)
1. Find at least two specific examples of Lockwood's poor judgment from the text, and make a statement about how this may impact the novel as a whole.
2. Consider why Bronte may have chosen such a unique narrative structure? Why not tell the story from the point of view of one of the main characters? In what ways will this unique narrative structure effect our reading of the novel?
PROMPT - 11/13/09
Please respond to the Nancy Haught article, "To A New National Heroic Ideal," by either agreeing or disagreeing with the assertions of Mr. Gellert. Do we truly need, as a nation, to shift our heroic ideal away from that of the warrior? Or is there value in maintaining this type of heroic ideal? Respond thoroughly with a minimum of 150 words.
